One of the most disturbing films I’ve ever seen. I don’t see how anyone can still believe in the Catholic church and call themselves Catholics after watching this. It’s just unbelievably disgusting.
Do we abandon the school system because some teachers are pedophiles/child molesters?
Do we abandon sports because so many professional players commit crimes?
Do we abandon sports programs in schools because so many coaches are pedophiles/rapists?
No.
The teachings of the Roman Catholic Church are what they are regardless of who is preaching them.
That some priests (something around 2% of priests are pedophiles, so not nearly the majority many think it is) commit such horrific acts does not diminish the teachings.
All it means is that some people cannot follow them.
Guess what? Everyone fucks up sometimes. Some people do more damage than others.
Some people do a LOT of damage.
Oh my god are you fucking kidding me?! I’m not even sure I should respond to this because it’s so stupid. Fact is the Church knows this is going on and they do everything they can to cover it up and just ship the priest from parish to parish so he could just continue on molesting more and more children. So, yes, fine, I understand the priest has a problem but the Church doesn’t even acknowledge that he has a problem or try to help him cure that problem. 2% is not a lot?! Using that, if there are a million priests in the world, then that means 20,000 of them are pedophiles. That doesn’t alarm the fuck out of you?! Even if it’s just one priest, if I know that the Church tried to cover it up so they could maintain an image of holiness and sinlessness, then I’m getting out of that Church.
